Rachel S. Nitzarim, Ph.D.

Dr. Rachel Nitzarim, Robert’s niece, is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who provides part-time individual and couples therapy with adults.  Dr. Nitzarim works with clients who experience a wide range of concerns including trauma, grief and loss, academic difficulties, depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, difficulty with transitions, substance abuse, eating disorders/body image concerns, and medical conditions. She utilizes Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral therapies, in congruence with an Interpersonal Process psychotherapy model to provide treatment. Her research and publishing has included the effect of counseling and psychotherapy on social class related experiences and a number of other topics.  In addition, Dr. Nitzarim works full-time as the Associate Director, Applied Clinical Practice at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago.  She has office hours in the Niles and Chicago locations.

Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2008
Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2010
Doctor of Philosophy degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2015

License: Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Illinois

Pre-Doctoral Internship:

Internship at The University of Texas at Austin Counseling and Mental Health Center (APA Accredited), 2014 – 2015

Post-Doctoral Fellowship:

University of Chicago Student Counseling Services, 2015-2016.
